Greetings!
I am Dr. Deborah Myles McGinty a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist, LPC Approved Supervisor, a Continuing Education Unit Provider, and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I provide therapy and psychological evaluations in a variety of settings.
In addition to private practice, I'm a psychology professor and teach online graduate courses. For several years I worked in higher education as the Dean of Student Development and Director of Counseling. I received several recognitions within the field of counseling including an award from Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for my contributions as a counselor in higher education and Psychology Instructor of the Year Award at Westwood College. I'm affiliated with several professional organizations for counseling including Houston Licensed Professional Counselor Association, Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society, American Counseling Association, Texas Counseling Association, National Association for Academic Advising and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
My therapeutic goal is to provide support and feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges in a warm, trusting and supportive atmosphere. I'm experienced, compassionate, caring, and candid. I'm available for on site or phone consultation. Appointments are available on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 1:00pm -7:00pm and Saturday 10am-3pm. I am currently accepting new clients!
